Calendar Button

I've been a long and faithful user of nUI for almost a year now. I've had a few bugs, but they normally get sorted out. There are two issues that I am plagued with for now, but only one of which will be discussed at this time.

My calendar button is gone. When 3.3 hit, and I updated all my mods, it freaking dissappeared. I've tried the following steps to try and fix the problem:

- Complete re-install of WoW, including all patches. Into a clean directory of my choosing (I don't let programs tell me where they are installing.. I tell programs where they can install). I installed all my addons and booted into a fresh new me.
- Complete, step-by-step addon disabling and enabling.
- Using nUI only
- using nUI only and then adding addons one by one.

I honestly think it has to do with nUI. I use the nUI GUI to mess with my setting because I'm too lazy to remember and figure out all the slash commands. And this is my finding:

I disable the option to have nUI manage the Calendar button. This removes it from the button bag (which wasn't there to begin with) and places it at the bottom of the minimap. It stays there until I log out, which then it disappears again.

Included is my list of addons. There are a lot, but not of them are enabled all the time on each toon.

Are you using WoWmatrix to update mods and in this case then also nUI ?

Afaik, only curse, wowi and nuiaddon.com are allowed to host nUI ?

I have been using Nui for ages and after patch 3.3 my calander button has gone, anyone no how to fix this?

It looks like wowmatrix has got hold of a copy of nUI. Possibly the old version from way back.

That said, a quick test but can confirm calendar in button bag. /nui calendar and it is now on the minimap.

I'm not sure -- two different posts on the subject now, sounds like something may have changed. I'll look into it.

Wel, my first question to Bigsmith would be where he updated nUI from.

You could also find it strange that 2 posts on the same subject surface after 3.3 has been life for a week now (right?).. Could be that wowmatrix updated nui today or something.

Just guessing tho.

Well, just double checked that it wasn't the revised version of nUI that I have been testing that had the calendar working and its there fine.

So now the question is what version of nUI have they got installed. If they haven't used the download from this site in the last week then perhaps they could try that then let us know the results.

"Installed" WoWmatrix (so sorry) and they offer 5.06.05 as latest version. Haven't tried to install it tho...

using /nui calendar for me doesn't seem to work like it should, typing it once, says nUI is handling the calendar but it doesn't appear anywhere, typing it again, says its disabled and the calendar appears at the bottom of the minimap, but only stays like that till i log.

When it is managed that means it is being stored in the button bag. But, once either option is chosen it should stick unless your WTF files aren't being updated somehow.

Okay -- I just did some testing and I can't reproduce this... the button is working fine for me... it's either on the minimap or in the button bar and even when I log and back, the most recent setting "sticks"

I'm not sure what the issue is here.

Well, tested again on my non admin rights launcher and it still carried out and kept the instructions I gave it. Either it is in the box when I ask or on the minimap when I ask.

Its fairly well known that wowmatrix was updating version numbers and such to make addons they were offering seem up to date when they weren't. Also check to see if error reporting is turned off. If it is turn it on and try again and post any errors you get. Turning off the lua errors was something else it was known for doing.

Being that it cant be reproduced with the current version and several other testing methods a fresh slate is the surest way to test. I would suggest a full clean install with a version taken directly from this site from the download pages link.

this is the only place i download nUI from, i use the GUI addon when trying to get the calendar button to work, maybe the cause is the GUI addon, i'll test without it and see if that does anything, only other thing i can think of is i run under admin myself on my pc, and i'm using windows 7 64 bit pro, how would one find out if my WTF files are updating?

Edit: well i tried disabling nUI GUI addon and it still does the same thing, type the command once and it says nUI is handling the calendar, but its no where to be found, type it again and it appears at the bottom of the minimap, but doing a simple /reloadui it vanishes again and its no where to be found.... only other thing i use that may be causing issues is Carbonite, but i disabled anything it might have to do with the calendar. so not sure what the deal is myself.

edit 2: got it to appear in the minimap bag, found that slide bar Lib was the cause, but still, after a reloadui, its vanishes from the minimap bag. gonna keep experimenting to see if i can find out the problem.

Edit 3: ok finally worked out what the issue was on my end, it was the Clock Fubar addon, i had to tick the "show day and night globe" option, now it stays in the MMB. hope this helps some ppl out.

This was my experience too. For whatever reason, its the only thing I didn't try either. But here's a screenshot for those who might be puzzled.
