Scorch debuff icon

Ok, so under my castbar I have these tiny icons showing my debuffs on a mob. But for a reason I can't figure out, the scorch debuff goes awol in the middle of a fight, leaving me clueless as when the refresh it. As far as i can tell, it is only the scorch debuff that does that.

Now, before I go yelling nUI is to blame, I loaded a mod called scorchio, and low and behold, the debuff timer goes awol as well there.

Any mages out there with the same issue?

Is scorch a DOT you have cast on the target that suddenly vanishes during combat? Is it possible it is being dispelled?

My mage isn't fire spec but I can test it out in a few if the dot effect happens for non specced mages.

Edit: Well from the tooltip it looks like non fire specced mages don't get the debuff as I suspected so unfortunately can't help test that.

No, its not a DoT, its a debuff and unless i missed something it can't be dispelled.

The DoT from Pyroblast i can see and another one ( maybe ignite).

I cant seem to detect a pattern, but it's driving me nuts.

Also, when the icon vanishes, it will not show up anymore when i reapply it.

My apologies .. was confusing the dot/debuff differences there. I know my priest debuffs and dots ( she has both ) are working as normal as far as I can see.

Wow, just realised most of my spells are dots anyway .. hehe .. anyway .. this spell http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=15286 is the only debuff that doesn't produce a dot and that one is my main spell I cast on every target and I never lose it unless I change targets and then it reappears when I target the mob I put it on.

Could that be what is happening in your case or is it literally disappearing mid fight with no reason why ?

Does this show up as a debuff on the target with a stack count, or as a buff on you with a stack count? If I'm reading that right, it looks to me like it might be a buff on you much like when my Shadow Priest procs Shadow Weaving which stacks up to 5 times on him and increases the shadow damage he deals... it's not a target debuff, it's a player buff.

Look at your buff bars on the left side of the screen and see if it doesn't apepar there.

Well, I'm sure it isn't nUI related. 3 different tracking mods showed the same behaviour. I'll go post on the mage forum if there has been a change in the mechanics of scorch i have missed or something.

Well.... there is no issue after all.... turned out things like Winter's Chill and Shadow Mastery dont stack with scorch, effectively removing my scorches as a lock or a frostmage do their thing.....
