Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Right Click menu

I was wondering if there is a way to make it so the health bar and power bar can display the right click menu even if they are not above the base frame?

Thanks for maintaining this addon, it is awesome

Just an idea...

Hi totalpackage,

at first thank you for the effort of creating and maintaining these amazing UF!

There are very few things I would like to see implemented or changed. To be more specific:

You say (on the info page of StUF) that showing RaidFrames instead of (or in addition to?) the party frames won't happen. But I think this (optional) behavior would solve the problem of not having buff filtering (for HoTs etc.) and the player missing from the party display (as a healer this is a useful thing). Just a thought.

I have nearly no knowledge of LUA and can only fiddle around with code (without really knowing what I am doing ^^) so if it is a decision based on technical reasons ignore my suggestion. If it is a personal decision: also no problem.

Okay, thanks again for your time and keep it up!

Hello, just wanted to say your UF are really solid and Ive enjoyed using them. I am a new user and the only thing I'm having trouble with ( idk if it can even be fixed ) but i wanted to ask anyways. When I lose HP or MP the " backdrop " / background behind the bar is quite transparent. Is there something I'm missing to fix this ? make it colored or at least less transparent.

I have tryed messing with the global backgrounds / individual frame backgrounds ect nothing seems to help. I just wanted to see if I'm missing something.

thx

I've set up a little support addon which provides multilanguage support, if anyone is interested in translating STUF to your language, feel free to do so on it: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nLanguage.html

also available on wowace.com:

??

That's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for functions to return the class and reaction colors of the unit the frame is for (the Stuf tag equivalents being [class:<infotag>] and [reaction:<infotag>]. I'm not sure how a color slider is going to help with that...

Edit: Ok, I finally found what I was looking for. My mistake - I was expecting a function and not a global table :P (also curse WoWWiki for not having UnitSelectionColor() documented)

Here is my code if anyone cares:
Code:
function(unit, cache, textframe)

local c = RAID_CLASS_COLORS[cache.CLASS]
local name = GetUnitName(unit)

if(name == nil) then
   name = ""
end

if(not UnitPlayerControlled(unit)) then
   if (UnitIsTapped(unit) and not UnitIsTappedByPlayer(unit)) then
      return "|cff909090%s|r",name
   else
      local r,g,b,a = UnitSelectionColor(unit)

      return "|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r",r*255,g*255,b*255,name
   end
elseif(UnitPlayerControlled(unit) and not UnitIsPlayer(unit)) then
   if(UnitIsFriend("player",unit)) then
      return "|cff20ff20%s|r",GetUnitName(unit)
   else
      return "|cffff2020%s|r",name
   end
end

return "|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r",c.r*255,c.g*255,c.b*255,name
end
Oddly it returns an error when I submit it in Stuf, but it works just fine (the only error is when I hit "okay")

Edit 2: Ok, found what it was choking on. Apparently it didn't like unitname being nil (which is silly because it's on the target frame, it shouldn't care if nothing is targetted because it's not displayed :P). Updated the function to fix it.

I don't know if there's anything different now than back then, but I did that intentional hack to load my options and assume I just loaded AceConfig for the first time. I could just load AceConfig with the core but chose not to. I do not see how your patch will be compatible with my setup, but I'll look further into it.
The patch doesn't break your load on demand, it just fixes your incorrect usage of the parent parameter. Your stub is already being replaced by your real config panel when it loads (since the panels are unique by name, two panels can't have the same name). However, since you parented the new panel to the old panel by passing the table to the old panel (which isn't correct usage, parenting in that API is only done by name) you made your new panel look like a child. This should be really obvious from the fonts of your panel names versus that of other addons.

Yes, this is different from parenting of frames, frames can be parented by using the table or the name, Interface Option Panels for whatever reason are done only by name.

Already mentioned on the description page that there are so many features it can have that the mod can be bigger than Stuf. I suggest downloading a standalone rune bar.

However there's no conditional I can put to only display something when the mana is at full to add the additional max mana.
You can try [solid_ifnot_mp99:whatever]. That will show the text if mana is greater than 99%.

Nope. If you really need to see the timers on player, set that unit as your focus. Or just download a buff mod.

Incorrect usage of the Interface Options Panel system.

You're passing a table to the Interface Options Panel system as the parent for your panels. However, you're expected to pass the name of the parent panel.

Additionally, in your case you're really not using a parent panel. You're parenting your action panel to the stub panel you're using to force loading of the options addons.

Since the parent and the child have the same name the parent doesn't even end up getting shown since the name is supposed to be unique. In the end your panels end up showing in the selection screen as children.

I found this due to a bug opened on the BlizzBugsSuck:
http://www.wowace.com/addons/blizzbu...figuring-stuf/

I've fixed BlizzBugsSuck to deal with your incorrect usage, but I also have prepared a patch to Stuf that fixes the incorrect usage:

Figured I'd post it here too...

I'm trying to create a text pattern for my stuf frames that would show a percentage of mana with the added exact amounts depending on whether the amount of mana is at max or not.

For example:

100% - 20000

or

80% - 16000 / 20000

Originally I simply had this as the input:
Code:
[percmp]%[solid_if_mp99: - ][solid_if_mp99:curmp][solid_if_mp99: / ][solid_if_mp99:maxmp]
However there's no conditional I can put to only display something when the mana is at full to add the additional max mana.

So I started working on an Lua version here:
Code:
function(unit, cache, textframe)
	local mp,mpmax = UnitPower(unit),UnitPowerMax(unit)
	local pctmp = floor(100*(mp/mpmax))
	local text
	local function truncate(value)
		if value >= 1e6 then
			return format('%.1fm', value / 1e6)
		elseif value >= 1e4 then
			return format('%.1fk', value / 1e3)
		else
			return value
		end
	end
	if mp == mpmax then
		text = pctmp.."%"
	else
		text = pctmp.."% "..truncate(mp).." / "..truncate(mpmax)
	end
	return text
end
This should be working as written however I get this error:
Code:
1x Stuf-3.3.006\text.lua:102: invalid option in `format'
Lines for text.lua 102:
Code:
local function AddAdvanceText(fs, a1, ...)
fs:SetFormattedText(gsub(a1 or "", "||", "|"), ...)
end

"text" does return the proper string, am I missing something?

Rune Bar

Is there any chance to add a feature to hide the rune bar while out of combat & outdoors? Basically what I'm looking for is to hide the rune bar (which I moved to the center of the screen) while I am not needing it. I could see needing it up 100% in instances, while in combat, and when runes are on CD.

Thanks,
Cormanthor
