Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0.1.1
by: Phanx [More]

Grid has been continued as Plexus by Doadin. Use that instead; Grid has not been updated since 2018 and will not be updated in the future.

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Ah that worked, turns out the problem was empty bartender bars ;$
Turned them off now and everything's working perfectly, thanks for the quick reply bro!

Hello phanx, can't register at wowace and post ticket. First of all i'm playing as Paladin, and i have spell - beacon of light, which Blizzard nefed in 4.0.1. now it's only heal the Beacon for 50% of the amount healed.

So Grid doen't show correctly heals on beacon target (it's only shows heal from holy light and it's 100% amount), so i beg you fix it, i want see my heals (with -50%) from divine light, flash of light and normaly from holy light.

I don't have any plans to add border textures to individual unit frames in Grid. Third-party addons like the one you linked work just fine.

Phanx-

I'm so glad you updated, I love grid!

I noticed a ton of things have changed in this new version, any idea of customizing borders will ever work?

I use to use this addon to make it look narly, but I question whether it will do such a thing ever again.

How about an option to show an indicator for prayer of mending, one thing I loved about using the wow raid frames over the past couple days was knowing who was a low priority heal because they had a PoM sitting on them.
This is possible, in exactly the same way it's always been possible in Grid:
  1. Navigate to Status > Auras
  2. Click in the "Add new buff" box
  3. Type "Prayer of Mending" without the quotes
  4. Press Enter
  5. Assign the new "Buff: Prayer of Mending" status to whatever indicator(s) you like

See the addon description under "How to report a bug in Grid".

I'm deleting your post, because nobody wants to scroll through 100 lines of local variables that have nothing to do with the actual error message.

On the last version of grid, I had the foreground showing class colors and then the background was a black color (for every class). I don't know how to do it (I had originally used someone else's layout) but is there a way to get that same effect instead of having the background be a lighter/darker shade of the class color?
You'd have to edit the code. The black background was a bug, and was corrected several versions ago.

I'm also having this problem, and my install was a clean install as well. I checked the folders and I have the specific library you mentioned. I'm wondering what I might be doing wrong.

Hmm wieird...the library is there inside the grid folder and I had done a clean install of Grid since it was an re-write...well I'll try doing another clean install and see what happens.

Re: Re: Grid box cannot be modified

What region are you playing in? Grid 1.30300.1308 is not compatible with WoW 4.0.1, and as such is no longer supported. If your locale has not yet patched to 4.0.1, you'll just have to wait, as no further fixes or changes will be made for older versions of WoW.
Strange. I downloaded the one from this site on Wednesday which said it was compatible with 4.01. Maybe it didnt update on my system even though I rebooted WoW. Thanks for your swift reply
