ChatSettingsFix (Patch 2.4)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.4.1.3
by: Tekkub [More]

Patch 2.4 introduced a bug where ChatFrame1 does not apply channel filters on login. This addon forces them to be applied. It will check your game version and build and not run after patch 2.4.1 build 8125. If the bug is not fixed in the next patch, a new version will be released.

Support has been expanded to ChatFrame2 as well (the combat log). I don't use the combat log currently, so I'm not certain it doesn't mess with the filters... but I don't think it does. Settings are now saved in the addon's savedvars as well, because it seems some channels get reset, even though they are saved out to disk correctly.

Ya know Tek .. I feel Blizz should hire you, I mean - seriously, they have devs dedicated to this stuff, yet can't fix it (even though the recent patch allegedly fixed it). But yet, you seem to fix all those little nuissances.

hi

love this mod, thank you!! everytime i log in, got so tired of clicking and unclicking the boxes.

but they released a bug patch today, that did not fix the problem, at least not for me. and now this mod also doesnt work, which i know it was said not to, but any chance on an update since apparently blizz didn't fix it?

Bless you. I'm sick to death of manually fixing this every time I log in.

They couldn't get it in to this build. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...geNo=1&sid=1#4

Tekkub thanks for fixing this annoying bug. I had my auto updater pointed to Google Code for all your mods, but I noticed you hadn't updated this mod on there since 2.4.0.1. Should I switch my updater to point at WoWInterface instead, or continue using Google Code?

I'm trying to keep the combat log free of everything in the settings for "Other" (no boxes checked under that setting), and I'm also using the Color/non verbose settings (which at the moment is replacing the non-working SimpleCombatLog... omg I miss that addon /cry). It won't save my colors /scream

Let me know if you need more details or screenshots.

I'm wondering if Bliz is going to release a patch to fix the patch tomorrow lol.

Yes, the settings aren't forced until PLAYER_LOGIN fires, and the guild MOTD seems to come before that. Which combat log settings, the normal chat ones or the new log filters? I don't mess with the filters.

Awe... it doesn't save the combat log settings

The other settings appear to be saved somewhat... guild chat no longer goes into window 1. It goes into window 3 where I saved it. Although, the guild welcome message still goes into both windows whereas prepatch 2.4 it only went into window 3.

I'll be checking back to see if you do more updates.

You ROCK for making this addon!!!

Thank You

I almost thought this failure was caused by PhanxChat (which I use for getting the edit box to top of the chat box).

Anyway a big thanks! I hope on next Wednesday there will be a tiny little patch
that will fix this issue.

Again thanks for this addon!

Thank you, Thank you!
It was very annoying to have to reset everything every time I logged, and it even got to a point where all my channels were out of whack.
