Exclamation Archive Ninjas

I must apologize, last week I went ahead and pruned the archives of all AddOns and did not announce this before hand. I used the date that was a week before the 3.0 patch. I needed to move the archive storage and it would have taken too much time/resources with out pruning.

I sincerely apologize if I deleted an archive you needed and will announce any future pruning.

I guess its just the ninja in me...

Rabble rabble rabble!

You do realize that some of us have addons from 2.0.3 that still work fine and don't need updated at all right? Good thing you didn't mess with my FA category ^^

My god I was still using svn back then too, wow thems some old addons... that still work! :P

I didnt prune the main files, just the archive, you know the files listed under the archives tab that very few people ever download? We are working on a plan to prune main files next but will announce it well in advance.

I was wondering what happened to the old archived version of my UI.

Not that I was really using it or needed it, but this does explain how it got deleted without me deleting it first. Thanks for the notice!

OH! Maybe you should just do that automatically on patches that change the TOC number? Keep the archives since the last major patch, purge the rest. Assuming the next TOC change comes with 3.1 for example, when that patch drops, prune out everything submitted before 3.0 dropped.

I support this idea.

Yeah, this is why I don't keep an archive on WoWInterface. I figure you guys have more important stuff to do with your hard drive space.

This didn't quite make any sense because every archived version of Omen3 except 3.0.4 was deleted. v3.0.0, v3.0.1, v3.0.2 and v3.0.3 were all uploaded after patch 3.0... because they only work on patch 3.0 (that is, after Oct 10 or so).

One would need to track the 'oldest' live realm out there, iirc traditionally China lags behind EU/US TOCs.

No it doesn't, you can still do that, just with a fixed delay on it :]
