Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>

  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings

type /bob to bring up the options menu, then click down to "ActionBars" and make sure "Lock Buttons" is NOT checked. That should do it!

6.12.07

The new version should fix all issues with stance paging, hopefully
Its also now possible to bind your spell book if you have both it and the bindings window open in Bongos. The UI for this will be improved eventually.

Since there's confusion about the matter, and also because I've changed the coding a bit, here's how you setup stances in Bongos:

Adding a Stance Bar

First, open up the main options window (/bongos)
Next, open the stances page, select the Add option.

From there, you'll see three settings: Stance, Bars, and Pages.

Stance is what stance you want to change your bar in (bear, berserker, stealth, etc) The drop down list should have all possible stances for your character.

Bars: Which bars you want to change when you switch stances. This is a range, so setting it to 1-12 would make bars 1-12 switch. Setting bars to 1-12 does NOT mean switch bar 1 to 12 in bear.

Pages: How many bars you want to move foward. This is added to whatever the base bar number is. For example, setting bar 1 to switch 7 pages in bear form would make bar 1 show the buttons on bar 8, bar 2 to 7 would make bar 2 show bar 9, etc. This number also "wraps", So if you set bar 12 to move forward by 1, but you only have 12 possible bars, it will switch to bar 1.

So, if you wanted to make bars 1-2 change to bars 7-8 when in bear form, you'd do the following
  • Set the stance option to Bear
  • Set the bars option to 1-2
  • Set the pages option to 6 (1 + 6 = 7 and 2 + 6 = 8)

Select save to add the stance bar, or cancel to go back.

Removing a Stance Bar
  • Open up the main options window (/bongos)
  • Switch to the Stances Panel
  • Click on the stance you want to remove, then click delete

omg, the solution was so easy, so obvoius. I have no idea why I didn't try it out sooner. All I had to do was set the bindings in Bongos *whacks forehead* that was easy.

Great addon, I've been using bibmod up until now, but didn't want to wait for a version that works with 2.0, so I tried out bongos. I must say it's a choice I definatly won't regret.

Only one thing kinda threw me off though. When Bongos switches my main bar (I play a druid), I can't us my 1-9 keys to activate the corrisponding slots in the "new" bar.
e.g. I switch to Bear form, abd Bongos replaces my Actionbar 1 with Actionbar 5 (good), but when I press "2" it tries to use the spell in Slot 2 from Actionbar 1 instead of the currently displayed Actionbar 5 (not good).
I'm not sure if it is a problem with 2.0, or if it is intended to work that way, but it would be really nice if I could use the 1-9 keys for the currently active bar. It is a small pain doing all spells with my mouse.

(and the invisible slot problem, but I kinda got used to that after a few hours of playing )

First let me say I love this addon and I thank you for all your hard work on it.

I am having the same problem as above. Once I enter combat my empty buttons show up again. It is only when I enter combat.

Keep up the good work!

Don't understand stance switching configuration

I don't understand the stances thing, it's very confusing to me...

- I want 6 action bars
- I want to be able to configure different buttons for action bar 1 when i'm in battle/defensive/beserker stance
- I want action bars 2-6 to never change buttons ever, regardless of stance

I don't use "paging" fwiw

I can't seem to do this - whatever I do, when change stances button bar 2 also changes, what is going on? it seems like it's a mirror or button bar 1?!?

What exactly does the "offset" represent in the stances configuration? that is not clear to me at all....

The most recent update is for 2.0, and 2.0 only. Its equivalent to the last Bongos BC build, and lacks the following functionality that the 1.12 Bongos had:
  • Right click self cast
  • Enemy/friendly target bars

You will also need to set key bindings for buttons using the new bindings menu in /bongos options.

I may be missing something, but I don't see Bongos in that list.

I'm having the same problem as a previous poster - I can't get it to switch bars in cat form. It works fine in bear form, and if I turn off all mods it works fine in the normal game (non-bongo bars even, I mean).
Learn aquatic form :P

For whatever reason it seems that combat abilities such as aimed shot/raptor strike/scatter shot/wingclip/etc will not work if I hit the hotkey on my keyboard. When I click them they work just fine. WHEN I HIT THE KEYBINDING THE LITTLE SQUARE AROUND THE ABILITY LIGHTS UP LIKE IT SHOULD but it says invalid target...thinking maybe it has something with the mod getting confused about selftargetting or something?
Set alt cast to use a different key.

I really like this mod but if I can't get this fixed I will have to uninstall it. I hope someone can help.

PS. other hotkeys work just fine it's just hotkeys that refer to attacks don't work...I have even moved the noncombat spell such as my mount or tradeskill to the button where the combat spell is and I can then hit the hotkey and it casts the spell...
