Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

Cant leave Prowl Bar

Is anyone having a problem with Prowl/Stealth Bar? When I attack or manually end stealth my Stealth/Prowl Bar doesnt switch back to my Cat bar.

Other than that its fab.

Re: Cant leave Prowl Bar

Tuller,

I went back to 718b and everything but profiles and hiding the minimap button seems to be working fine for me. It's holding keybindings and everything. It's not saving profiles even though it's listing them in the profiles directory.

My bindings havbe been 100% accurate and saved on this version (just as a heads up)

I don't know what I might be doing different than others... I do notice that on my hunters I have to go into WoW keybindings and remove the CTRL + 1-10 to remove those bindings from my pet bar, but that's no major thing...

I use hunters and rogues mostly, if that means anything.

I was using whatever version was available right before the patch the other day. Right after the patch, with the new version, can't load profile. I guess I'll have to try another bar addon then -- I'm way confused with all these new features. So hard to keep up for some reason.

Mine is mostly working now, it's hard to say why. The only problem is I can't bind the ; key. When I do it starts ignoring modifier keys, but if I shapeshift it's better again. Binding have always stayed saved, though one time I had to reset a couple keybindings (set camera to saved states, stance/shapeshifts).

I got some error messages when shifting to bear with furor. 2 messages repeated a lot, I'm guessing 2 for each button. It seems to have to do with being in combat (furor puts you in combat when you shift bear form).

Dunno if any of this helps anything...

I'm wondering if the bar paging configuration that was present in V6.x will be implemented in 7.x. I have a stack of 3 bars (bar 1, 3, and 5) and had bar 1 and 3 set as paged bars. Using the Marsbar addon I assigned "tab" to swap bars up one page when pressed and back when released allowing me to use key combinations such as tab-1 through tab-=, an ability that since Gypsymod has been referred to as page-on-press.

Will you be reenabling the paging per bar function that existed in the last version? Thanks!

I seem to be having a horrible time with docking bars.

First with my Warrior and now with my Priest. The bars just dont seem to go away when I'm in the state that turns them off. Anyone else having this problem?

Seems as though relogging fixes it...

I reverted to Bongos 7.18b and found that I could not change my keybindings for 1-10 to use anything other than Bar 1. Bar docking would not work.

For more stable keybindings, you might want to try 7.1.10 (not 7.1.10b). I haven't tested it extensively, but the bindings persisted through a logout, which is more than I got with the other 2.0.3 compatible versions.

Brought back the old system, right click self cast and profiles are incompatible, but bindings should work at least

What a disappointment to hear that. I really like the new style so much better than the old. The only problem I had with the new version was that the tooltips never changed when I moused over them in different forms. They always showed the tool tip of the original bar, not the bar that swapped in when I changed stances. Outside of this, I love this mod and it's ease of keybindings. Keep up the great work.

I went into the Blizzard keybindings and unbound them first. Maybe that's why I wasn't having problems with bindings... As for the docking, NONE of the versions gave me a problem. I don't know why I had didn't have an issue, tbh.

Thanks, Tuller. Will revert to what you've put up now.

Unhappy Why revert?

Why did you decide to revert that fast? I'm using "not reverted" version and it works fine with me

I also had some problems with the bindings (the default ones would not go away and I had to /rl once in order to make a change take affect) but I like the "new" (now old) version. After removing the bindings in BLizzards interface everything worked fine.

Also having an issue with the key bindings. I've only added the bindings through the mods interface. Will try removing Blizzards default bindings to see how it goes.

For now I am not going to "upgrade", version 7.18b works really well for me. And I am not going to setup bars again
