Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

May be Tuller can confirm ?
Same problem here, solved by turning on the Paging feature for all bars....but a hard-fix would be much appreciated

Another weird thing i encountered:

I cannot assign the "´" key to a button, it worked with older version of bongos. If i assign it, bongos will correctly display the assignment but pressing the "´" key doesn't do anything. Why?

He's right Tuller, there's an issue I think with the new function to check if the action has a function.

Easy way to reproduce:

Set up a bunch of bars
Change the 'spacing' of bar1, and bar2 will seem to disappear until you change it's spacing, in which case bar3 disappears.

I'm not talking about not knowing how to set them up, my stances are correctly set up and work for a while (around half an hour) until suddenly my main bar disappears. At the same time my hidden stance bars show up on top of the location where my mainbar is.This always happened to me in instances. Switching back and forth between stances does'nt help, the mainbar stays empty, no stance bars are appearing. It is really strange because if i relog, my setup is working again, if i just reload UI then nothing changes.

My Questions are:

1. What is causing my main bar to disappear and my settings to get messed up, although my setting works flawlessly at the beginning? Lag?

2. Why does a complete relog help retrieving my setup and a reload UI doesn't?

I have no idea if it comes from bonogs or from OCB but i would appreciate any help
Looks like an OCB error.

I play a warrior and have set up stances, with battle stance on bar 1, defensive on bar 7 and berserk on bar 8. I ran LBRS yesterday and I do a lot of stance switching. Every time I switch stances, I get hit by lag, freezing my character for the vital seconds I need, for example to place an Execute when I switch from def to battle stance.
The secure functions that are intended to be used for state switching are the problem, as they're (painfully) slow. An earlier update to Bongos sped up switching a bit, but the changes I introduced to bring back memory when paging slowed them down a bit once again, so I'm rewriting Bongos to use show states instead, much like Trinity does. The result should be a system that should be near the speeds of pre 2.0 Bongos, and working button macros.

I'm working around a concept where bars have one or more "sets" of buttons, with each set given conditions for when it should be shown (bear form, page 1, etc). Unfortunately, hotkeys are a pain to write in this system, so its going to take some time.

Spell count/ AB Info replacement

Love Bongos first off all, jsut wondering if there is a spell count mod out there for bongos. I used ABInfo prior and its no longer in development, now use omnicc for cooldown counts but still need a a mod to replace my spell count. Anyone know of a good one that works? Thanks!

Tuller, I was wondering if you have seen any problems with the bars moving out of position after logout?

On my warrior, every time I come into the game, my stance bar is sitting in the wrong place and I have to move it back.

Is this a known issue?

I'm a warrior and doing the stance dance (in combat only) does some strange things to m'bongos. I have 3 bars with specific buttons set up for each stance. All 3 bars are the same size and stacked on top of each other. The active stance sets the other 2 bars to page to a empty bar, allowing me access to the active bar only. It works fine out of combat but any switching in combat seems to make the empty bars active and overlap the active stance bar unclickable. It also shows the empty bars empty buttons, even though I have empty buttons clicked not to show.

I'm not sure if it is an issue with bongos or my ignorance of how paging/stances works.
