Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

oh man, these forums need a forehead slapping smiley. Yup, that was the problem. I went back, turned on the pet bar and jumped into a tonk. woot.

Thanks for the help, Bendel.

Is there a bar number for that, which I'm not seeing? The character I was using was a rogue, if that makes a difference

casting bar??

Im sure this is an easy one to fix, i just cant figure it out! When I use the bongos casting bar, it doenst overwrite the default casting bar. I get both no matter what I do. If I use MoveAnything to move the default casting bar the bar moves but the text stays there. Just wondering if there is something I can edit to have the Bongos Casting Bar overwrite the default Casting Bar so only the Bongos CastBar shows.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: Ya so apparently MetaHud Options was causing the problem.. You have to have "show cast bar" checked in Meta options or you will get the double cast bar.

The bar you're talking about is known as the mirror bar - shown when you're opening things, feigning, swimming under water, and performing some other actions. It's separate from the casting bar, which is why it isn't showing where you have the casting bar placed. Currently I don't believe bongos has a mod for the mirror bar, which is why I use e-casting bar. I would definitely use bongos casting bar if a mirror bar was included in a future release.

By the way, awesome work on all of your mods Tuller. Thank you and keep up the good work

Bongos_Plugins - Other than the newly released Bongos_Druid and Bongos_Hunter, I plan on releasing a Bongos_Priest, and a Bongos_Vista. Bongos_Priest will add a shadowform bar, and Bongos_Vista will add pretty: Button borders, and autofading.

/bob reuse :P

well i played around with '/bob reuse' some more, turning it on and off, and trying everything out...and i cannot find *any* differences whatsoever rofl. everything seems ot work the same.

i switched it around so much actually, that i cant even tell what i have it set at now. my ui mem every time i issue '/bob reuse' is at 34.4mb and warmup reports the exact same value either way too.

guess i'll just leave it how it is now, unless i can figure out how to set it to reuse for sure (the toggle doesnt say which way it is currently set).

i think tuller needs a nickname. how about Big-T? or Mr-T? ooh T-Bone

/salute

edit: hmm i found this in my /wtf/account/accountname/servername/charname/savedvariables folder in the bongos.lua file
["dontReuse"] = 1,

so i guess Reusing is off now gonna turn it back on!

Tuller buddy... any chance you can make the bongos_mapbar frame sized the same as the minimap itself and NOT the minimapcluster... but center the frame on the minimap? Right now we cant hide buttons and use bongos_mapbar to push the minimap further to the edge due to the clamp flag.

Re: re: /bob reuse

do we lose any features edit: *in bongos* if we have /bob reuse enabled?
No, nothing should be lost.

can you give an example of a possible conflict, or the type of behavior we'd see if this happens? if i get an error, i wouldnt think of blaming bongos unless i got an error message that specifically had "bongos" in it somehwere :P
There could be issues like not being able to move buttons, not being able to change pages when switching stances, buttons hiding when switching stances, etc. If you're not using a big package like CT or Cosmos, it shouldn't be a problem.

Hey I downloaded this mod as for one I really like low memory addons with nice features and Bongos looked like a good choice for me. So i downloaded it but I have a problem with my main action bar when I switch to Defense stance.
Try /bob reset

yarr

seems like a cool feature as long as we dont lose any features, and as long as those "possible addon conflicts" are minimal i'll do pretty much anything to save mem/cpu/onupdate/GC cycles!

Sorry for posting it here, but I posted it in the bug report area but I want to bring this up for discussion with the users and the author of this mod. Maybe you can help me?

Hey I downloaded this mod as for one I really like low memory addons with nice features and Bongos looked like a good choice for me. So i downloaded it but I have a problem with my main action bar when I switch to Defense stance.

Basically what happens is is that when I change to Defense stance it keeps the same icons from the previous stance. But the mysterious thing is, is that the in defense stance the icons are the same as the previous stance but they actually perform the spells that I have configured for Defense stance correctly. So I guess it's just an icon problem (problem updating?). I came across this error, not sure when I got it rhough or what event triggered it as I use ImprovedErrorFrame:

Error: Interface\AddOns\Bongos_ActionBar\actionBar\bar.lu a:318: attempt to perform arithmetic on local `barID' (a nil value)

GL on the rest of your work, I guess my wow client is just a bad apple or something but apart from that it's a great mod.
