SLTimex 2.0

SLTimex 2.0
Super-configurable Stat Tracker

Disclaimer: SLTimex 2.0 is currently in an early release state and you may come across occassional bugs. The add-on is stable right now (as far as my testing has conveyed), however...it could very well wig out if something unexpected happens or ends up conflicting with another add-on I've never used or tested with.

Bug & Error Reports
--------------------------------------
Please please please report as many bugs/erors as you can if you try this add-on out. Be as specific as possible when doing so. Please use my Author Portal to do the bug reports.

What is it?
--------------------------------------
SLTimex 2.0 is a comprehensive stat & system info tracking add-on that conveys information in a text-based format. The add-on is very popular in minimalist UI designs, as well as UI's that seek alternative means of stat tracking outside the use of addons like FuBar or StatWindows.

Some Specifics:
--------------------------------------
SLTimex 2.0 is a re-write of the original SLTimex. It has become substantially more powerful in terms of customization and integrating into existing UI's. The original SLTimex offered Local Clock, Memory, Latency, and Framerate tracking in a basic design with layout options and SharedMedia support to customize the look and feel of the add-on. SLTimex 2.0 breaks every limitation boundry the original had by adding stat modules, and breaking each module into it's own independent element.

Modules Include:
- Local Clock (with 24/12 Hour formats)
- Server Clock (with 24/12 Hour formats)
- Latency
- Memory
- Framerate
- Bag Space Tracker
- Gold Tracker
- Mail Tracker
- Equipment Durability Tracker (equipped gear only)

Each module is independent from the others. They can be anchored to either the UIParent (main UI frame), or to every other active SLTimex module. There are no restrictions on layout customization, whatsoever. Want 2 modules on the top left and 5 on the bottom right? Go for it! And a huge clock in the middle? It's possible!

I've removed unlock/lock & drag capabilities and left positioning strictly to the menu-based Anchor & Offset system. Most other options have been left intact for customizing the look & layout of the add-on including:

- Text Justification
- Font Size
- Font Face

All elements have individual settings for these options, so you can have different modules with different fonts if you like. Some new features include:

- Colorize! When this option is enabled on certain modules, the colors of the text will change reactively based on certain conditions (ie. your Durability falls below 50%)
- Configuration Background: When this option is enabled, it creates a configuration border around the modules with highlighted corners for easy alignment & layout customization.

Specific modules have their own configuration options to further customize the look & feel of SLTimex 2.0 (ie. Bags can show remaining or used space, Gold has different layout formats, all have multiple "layout" styles).

Commands:
--------------------------------------
/slt, /sltimex, /timex = Open Waterfall Config Menu

Coming Soon
--------------------------------------
I'm currently working on implementing a "Save/Load Custom Layout" feature that will allow people to share their custom layouts easily and effectively. This is currently being worked on and will be in a very near-future release.

Update on SLTimex

I'm delighted by the positive feedback I've gotten from SLTimex, and I've had a lot of inquiries about additional features and suggestions in regard to making the addon even more configurable.

What I'm going to be doing for version 2.0 is split the addon in two!

SLTimex will essentially remain unchanged aside from some polish & a few additional features I've been working on all along. It's going to simply include the Clock, FPS, Memory, and Latency Modules, and remain unchanged as far as configuration goes. It's going to be as lightweight as I can make it (and I'm going to run benchmarks on Memory & CPU usage for the 2.0 release). I will be adding a few additional features, mainly font color adjustment and module positioning (change Mem+Lag+FPS to any order string you desire).

The new SLRolex is going to be SLTimex on steroids. One thing I've seen is a lot of private .lua modification to not only SLTimex, but Phanx's CML as well. A popular thing is adding additional statistics as well as modifying the layout. While working on SLTimex's layout configuration, I pretty much ended up starting from scratch to create SLRolex. I've personally stopped using FuBar as well in my UI layout, so this is my answer to not having that information bar as well on a personal level.

SLRolex is going to have configuration options up the Wah-zoo! Layouts will be dramatically (and radically) different, as you will be able to configure the stat modules in any possible manner using all available anchors & x/y offsets for each individually. It will include new Mail, Gold, and Durability modules. You can seperate the modules to make more than one stat section, so for instance if you wanted the Clock, FPS, and Memory modules all together and the Mail, Gold, and Durability modules as a seperate entity in your UI, you could do this easily through the config menu. It's obviously going to have a little more overhead as far as CPU and Memory usage goes in comparison to SLTimex, but it will still remain lightweight & effective in it's goal.

Background

Hi, sorry for being dumb at this but could someone please tell me if there is an option to modify the background of SLTimex? Or opacity?

Values are exactly specified in the code so I assume changing those will do the trick ( SLTFrame:SetBackdropColor(0, 0, 0, 0.3) ? ) However updating addon will spoil this.

Is it there and I don't see it or this feature is not supported?

Thanks.

There currently isn't an option to "change" the opacity or color of the backdrop. However this is going to be added in a very "near future" update release, along with a ton of other new features. For now you can change the values in the .lua files if you prefer to see the background, and hold out for the updated release.

Update

SLTimex is very close to the 2.0 release. One of the things I really wanted to do this time is make it a very easy to customize, to near limitless layout options. Here's some of the new features:

Bags, Gold, and Server Time: In addition to Clock, Latency, Memory, and FPS...there are now Bag & Gold modules included, along with a independent Server Time module. Some configuration options for each are included, and I'm sure I'll be adding more in the future after 2.0 is stable and ready to go.

Background: The addon now has it's own "eePanel"-esque background frame with border that can be styled in any fashion (and includes full background/border SharedMedia integration). Includes transparency.

Individual Modules: I really should have named the addon SLStatCenter...because it's getting there! All modules are now independent from one another. This allows for limitless arrangements & layouts of the text information on your screen. The Lock/Unlock features is gone (along with dragging) and placement is strictly done by use of Offset X & Y positions via the Waterfall GUI. Anchor each module to whatever other module you want, and offset to your hearts content to build a totally unique SLTimex layout. Each module can also be enabled and disabled independently, so only have updating what you want and disable the rest.

Aesthetics: Each module has a configuration background built in, that you can toggle on and off. When toggled on, shows a background & custom border designed to help layout the modules so they're clean and level. Like hanging a picture on a wall! You can now change the color of each module independently as welll.

Two additional modules I'm toying with implementing is Mail Msgs and Durability. The tough part is doing so without creating a ton of overhead, since I'm trying to keep it as lightweight as possible. I'm anticipating another week or two, and then I'll be releasing it.

The mail option (along with everything else) should make it in to that week or two time frame. It's nearly completed, with a few things left to do...mainly those two modules (mail & durability), and localization. But for the most part right now, it's very stable in the build I've been using for about a week now and it should be good to go very soon.

The durability modules might not make it, although it will be added as soon as it's done.

this sounds like awesome additions for me personally, as i've got SLTimex sitting right above a transparent bottom fubar with only my gold, mail, bag and durability indicators aligned right under it (the rest of my fubar plugins are on an auto-hide top bar).

SLTimex 2.0 is complete. I'll be spending the rest of the week cleaning up some code and making sure there are no glaring problems before I release it this weekend (probably Friday). The only additional work needed aside from debugging is to complete the localization. Otherwise it's ready to go. Here's a picture of the First-Load state of the addon:

Every element can be anchored to any other active element. Every element can be enabled or disabled independently. For Durability, Mail, Gold, and Bags there are multiple text formatting options (Full, Compact, Hidden) to save room or make it more expansive (for instance, "D" is Durability in it's compact state, Mail is in it's full state in the picture, Bags are in the compact state, and gold is in it's extended state).

Expect to see it available at some point this Friday.

P.S. In the picture, the Experience bar is not part of SLTimex. It's a seperate SL addon coming soon.

Thumbs up

WoW Taffu, Seerah told me about what changed in SLTimex, I downloaded it and WOW. I mean, I was working on something similar, saves me the work. The only thing I do miss, is something in the lines of "Guild: x/x Friends: x/x" Basically just showing if there are guildies/friends online, not their names and all. Though it would be handy, but that's taking it too far for SLTimex perhaps. Keep up the amazing work!

I'm actually working on an add-on right now for Guild & Friend Lists. It's not going to be an integrated part of SLTimex, but it will go together with it very well. I've just started it, as I'm still trying to get SLTimex 2.0 to a very stable point...but it shouldn't be too far off

Coolbeans. Here's a question Moon and I had that she forgot to ask. (Or maybe she found out how and forgot to tell me. ) Can you still do Garbage Collections? I don't see the button/command in the options window, and I'm not sure if it did it when I tried the click combo on the frame.

2.0 doesn't have this yet, the way 1.12b did. I will be adding it, but I've just been placing priority on some of the more basic features to make sure everything is working properly. It will be added, very soon, and it will be the same <Shift+Left Click> method, just on the Memory module frame only. It will relay a message in the "coming soon" info text frame that will accompany the AH Alert feature I'm working on as well.

Big Update Today - 2.3 is currently patching, and prior to servers going down I finished up some large changes. Two main added features are the AH Alert addition to the mail system, and Special Bags (ammo/profession) being added to the bag system. I extensively tested these features and they're working great (mail is working -much- better). I do have some slight work to do with the Ammo bag feature (changing bag slots to ammo count) but in the meantime everything should be stable.

The bugs that were causing "Font Not Set" errors should all be fixed as well. Upcoming features are lock/unlock dragging and garbage collection on memory module <shift+rightclick>.

I've been debating adding icons to some of the modules (like Durability, Mail, Gold, and Bags) as an alternate display mode. I'll look into this
