I just downloaded all the new fubar things this morning, and deleted all the old boss mods I used.

i'm getting an odd LUA error about 'pairs' form fubar. :/

Anyone else experience this?

I am wondering has anyone done any comparison between latest Titan and Fubar?
Obviously Titan is working and there are no reason to swtich over unless Fubar is much better performance wise.

just after the servers came up I was in IF, I kept hanging then getting disconnected. I disabled FuBar and Ace and this went away. Later I logged in moved to Stormwind and re-enabled the add ons. it may have to do with a network traffic issue. They dont call it Laf Forge for nothin ya know

Messin up the bags!

Only problem that I've had with Bosspanel, then Fubar, is that the panels, however many you have running, doesn't change anything with the actual game.

Not trying to be confusing, even though I may be. I run WOW in windowed mode(too much doing other things to wait for the game to reset when I'm not in windowed mode) When I'm not using any Fubar panels, everything looks fine.

However, when I'm running two panels, which I have to do to keep everything pretty , WOW does not adjust accordingly to a slightly smaller screen, as it did with titan. My toolbars are fine, can cast all my abilities, however, my bags do not open above the toolbars like they would if WOW had the full screen.

An ideas?

I just downloaded and installed FuBar (i think bosspanel is a cooler name) and it works fine Only comment I have for you, is make it looks better. Right now it looks very ugly and the tooltips people use are too colorful. Thats one of the reasons why i love titanpanel. Very good looking, very nice look to everything. I am thankful that someone made a titan skin for bosspanel Keep up the good work!

P.S. If anyone can make TitanXPBar for bossp - err fubar would be awesome!
I agree, Titan does have a cleaner look to it. But FuBar has some superior features. I swtched yesterday and so far I like how it works.. even if it is a bit on the ugly side Mayby some of the artsy types can make skins for it?

Also is there a way for it not to hide the zone text on the mini map? I know I have the Location add in but im used to looking at the zone name on that and would like that back.

Custom Skins?

Are you gona add custom skins to FuBar or allow the ability to change the colour of the bar?
This would be great

Also making the options of seperators(lines between mods)

So if anyone has the same problem as me not seeing any bars, remember to check if your Ace is up to date.

P.S. Perhaps a check to see if the dependancy is up to date could be implemented? Might save some headaches
Well, now FuBar checks for Ace 1.3 or greater and doesn't load without it.

I downloaded the newest version last night, and it tells me that there's a missing dependancy. It seems to be not recognizing Ace (which I tried reinstalling) or something. I'm gonna drop back a few versions.

No that can't be it. I don't have anything called BattlegroundFu, only FuBar_BattlegroundFu, and when trying to solve it I started disabling plugins, all the way until only FuBar itself was left. And I still couldn't see any bars. This was using 0.9.9.229, I haven't tried the newest ones as the patchnotes say nothing about the issue. I also tried rolling back to 0.9.9.227, but still got nothing.

This was my 1st time trying the mod by the way. I will continue using Titan while I wait for a fix.

The fact of the matter is that this addon, regardless of its name, is very well done and almost stable to the point of making it an actual release. I have been using this addon since early beta while checking daily for new updates. I can assure you it has not always been stable, that many API changes have happened, and that new features have been added frequently. This looks to me (and other reasonable people) like this is not at all what you would expect to see from an addon that has been released and therefore while you (and your other like-minded people) have a right to express your concerns, they do appear to some (myself and other reasonable people included) to be baseless given the beta nature of this addon. My advice to you is to wait for the v1.0 release if the beta phase is too hot for you to handle because you will be much happier and would not have to concern yourself with things that won't matter after release is official.
Thanks so much for your belittling, baseless flame (of which I am sure other reasonable people would agree it is...cough) . Much obliged. Now go away.

Constructive criticism (w/o belittling) is usually appreciated by people with professional attitudes, as evidenced by Boss's most recent post below. When you express rational concerns about development, ideas the author(s) may not have had about their decisions come up, adding to the information the author(s) have about improvements for their mods. And of course, there will be other concerns that mean nothing for the author. It is the whole point of public file comments sections such as this. Whether or not the thing is in beta or is a release.

The concerns I have previously expressed have nothing to do with "how will this affect me"; its solely about this mod becoming a popular and well supported replacement for Titan. Which I hope it does.

Boss, as you are having ongoing API changes, yes, no problem calling it a beta. And yes, no need of course to limit yourself to closed-group beta testers because then it would take longer to get to people and longer for mod authors to start developing/porting to it. Which brings it full circle back to my original concerns...heh.

Which were: changing the name this far into the beta cycle (yep, you have said it is a beta) has the large potential to hinder adoption by people and/or mod development for it. Which takes away some of the adoption/development speed gained by releasing the public beta early. I have seen way too often in professional software development where software (whether a platform/library for other products or stand-alone) that changes its name after release (whether being sold or open-source) cause slow-downs as described above to occur. "Release" meaning either actual release or long-term beta "release".

Again, I wish this platform the best of luck and hope the name change does not cause many slow downs to happen to either adoption or development. Of course, there is still time to change the name back (just kidding!...then you would run into the problem a second time ).

While I agree that changing to FuBar might clash with Foobar (http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=398) I don't have a problem with the way Boss is doing his own thing, or the fact the name was changed at all.

He could have called it Ubarpwnsomewtfbbqsauce Pro Mod Xtreme Limited Gaming Edition 2006 for I care. It still works, it still works better than Titan IMO, and I'm happy.
