EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features.
It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings.
EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor.
After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/sharedmedia

Buff Bars Above Self and target

Is there any way to disable (or just move) the bars that show above the character frame?

For example, when I cast barkskin on my Druid, a bar pops up but I cannot figure out how to move or disable it...

Saving Profiles Option?

I've noticed that all my characters share the same settings. Is there any way to save different settings for them?

I have a group for self buffs to make it easier to see what I need to refresh. On my mage I put in mage armor, AI, etc. I'd like to be able to have different buffs in that group depending on which character I'm on.

A single profile per character would work, but it would be awesome if you could save/load profiles on a group-by-group basis .

Elkano, I followed your advice and deleted my saved variables and such.

I've figured out the problem, however. It occurs whenever I hide the buff icons.

Hi here. First, thanks for this great mod. It is really excellent.

I have a quite annoying bug. The default blizzard buff frame still appear when using your mod. I'm also using x-perl in parallel, perhaps it's comming from this.

I'e seen already the same questions preciously but not the answer. Thanks in sdvance.

The buffs still showing up isn't EBB's bug but caused by another addon that forces them to be shown again. Sorry :/

@hett: I'll try to look into that. At least I have a small clue now

Just switched to this after using Buffalo for some time, and I'm loving it. Much clearer, especially when playing a paladin or class with many buffs.

I have two suggestions:

1. Ability to filter buffs that I cast and ones which other players cast. Colour-coding these should help to categorize and ultimately present a layout easier on the eyes.
2. Ability to configure all groups' size, texture, etc. through one menu and not have to do it individually.

There is no way to distinguish between buffs cast by yourself and those cast by others. The only thing you could do would be to create new groups and use white-/blacklist filters to only show or hide those buffs you can cast yourself.

WRT a menu for setting up all groups at once this is something that is planned but I'm still looking into how to do it in a good way.

Shame about the buffs. Even using a whitelist, you'd get buffs from others (such as paladin blessings) mixed in there, so there appears no easy solution.

I look forward to the grouped menu :].

When ever my weapon gain a temporary buff such as a mana oil, Shaman totem weapon buff, poison, or the shaman weapon buffs such as windfury the timers on my addons and their bars bug out. The time no longer ticks away and the bars eventually all go empty even tho the buff bar remains. When ever I gain a new buff or debuff from anything be it a priest tossing me a fort or a trinket proc they are not displayed on my buff bar either. Once I remove the weapon from my character or the effect on the weapon fades all my buffs are displayed accurately until I apply another oil or re-equip the buffed weapon.
I'm having this problem aswell and haven't been able to locate an older version of the mod to revert back to, is there any kind of fix for this atm?, Is it caused by another mod or know to be with EBB? Any help here would be awesome.

Taint log error message

Hey there... been using ElkBuffBars for a while now and I recently started encountering an error (discovered it when I was told an action was blocked because of taint).. so I turned on taint logging and got the following:

12/19 23:38:09.739 Global variable UIDROPDOWNMENU_MENU_LEVEL tainted by ElkBuffBars - Interface\FrameXML\UIDropDownMenu.lua:553 ToggleDropDownMenu()

Not wholly sure what was causing each of those (I can't think of anything in particular I was doing when I got the error), but maybe you'll have some idea. Either way, I'll try to make a note of anything I'm doing if/when it happens again and see if i can get a combatlog from the same time.

You didn't read the text abouve:

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://files.wowace.com/SharedMedia/SharedMedia.zip

I've been having an odd problem since installing EBB, where actual buffs don't display consistantly in EBB, tho they seem to work fine in any other buff/aura manager I try. I'm not 100% sure it's an EBB problem since I have a lot of mods, but like I said others don't seem to have this problem, they just don't look near as good nor have the features I like, and most buff bar authors seem MIA lately, and with 2.4 around the corner I'm being extra careful to only get used to actively supported mods

It's not a consistent problem, but sometimes, quite often actually, the buffs just won't appear in EBB. If I have some other mod that shows them, or even several other mods going at the same time, every other mod will show them. If I disable every other buff mod I can think of EBB starts working again, and I can re-enable the disabled mods and everything works in harmony for a while until EBB decides to cut off again.

I'm not really trying to run multiple buff monitors, most of the addons I'm refering to are like xperl and pitbul which have their own built in buff monitor with no real way to disable just that bit, so I'm not sure if they're putting their own hooks into the UI even if I chose not to display via those addons.

I'm not sure if it has to do with the order the addons load and EBB likes to be first or last and disabling/re-enabling fixes that load order at least for a few tries or something...

Also sometimes it works for some alts and not others, where I switch between two characters, one it works for, the other it doesn't, with all the same addons enabled.

I'm using the wowace SVN copy with an auto updater so it should be up to date.
